Interesting topic from Dr. Hadden: “Wrist arthritis can be debilitating. Fortunately, we have several different non-operative and operative treatment modalities aimed at alleviating pain. In more advanced forms of arthritis, the most tried and true surgical option is a total wrist fusion, which aims to alleviate pain at the cost of motion. However, another option is a total wrist arthroplasty. This is a joint replacement surgery akin to what we offer patients for hip and knee arthritis. Older generations of this technology fell short in helping patients maximize motion. With newer iterations, patients are now able to realize near-full wrist range of motion. While at Brown University, I was able to train with one of the leading experts on total wrist arthroplasties and have learned to perfect this craft. I look forward to offering newer generations of this technology as another option in the treatment of wrist arthritis for Roseburg and the surrounding communities.”
